Corrosion Protection Coatings

The pipeline anti-corrosion coating system is a multi-layer composite protection system specially designed for steel pipelines, risers and related components. Through a combination of external wall anti-corrosion, inner wall anti-corrosion, and special joint protection measures, it resists marine corrosion caused by seawater salt fog, immersion, erosion, and microbial attack. At the same time, some of the coatings also have functions of weight compensation, insulation, and wear resistance, ensuring the safe operation of the pipeline throughout its entire life cycle.

Application scenario

1. The entire outer walls of underwater pipelines and submarine buried pipelines are protected against corrosion, suitable for long-term exposure to seawater and soil corrosion conditions on the seabed.

2. Surface risers and splash zone pipelines are designed to withstand alternating dry and wet conditions and strong salt spray corrosion environments.

3. Special anti-corrosion protection for weak parts such as pipeline welding joints, flanges, and special-shaped pipe fittings.

4. Internal wall anti-corrosion of high-pressure transportation pipelines to prevent the medium from corroding and wearing the inner pipe walls.

5. For deep-water pipeline weight-bearing scenarios, a concrete weight-bearing coating (CWC) is used to achieve both anti-corrosion and pipe stability functions.

Main structure

It is divided into three major systems: external coating, internal coating, and on-site joint coating:

1. External coating: The mainstream uses 3LPE, 3LPP, FBE (fusion-bonded epoxy), DFBE, etc. for anti-corrosion structures, and for heavy-load pipelines, a concrete counterweight coating (CWC) is added on top;

2. Internal coating: Mainly uses internal epoxy coating, which reduces the resistance of medium transportation and protects the inner wall from corrosion;

3. Joint coating: For on-site welding joints, a special joint coating is used, which is compatible and matched with the main coating;

The overall structure is a multi-layer composite structure, with complete processes such as surface sandblasting pretreatment, primer, intermediate paint, and topcoat. Customized reinforced coatings can be provided according to special working conditions such as low temperature and high erosion.
